Sam Chang

Team Lead

As a Team Lead dedicated to supporting persons with disabilities, Sam brings a grounded, advocacy-driven heart to his work. Having spent significant time working with children with autism, he has developed an ability to communicate through connection rather than just words. This experience taught him that "success" is not a one-size-fits-all metric, but a series of individual milestones that require unique support.

Sam is a student at the University of Alberta, where he is working toward a Nursing degree. This path provides him with an understanding of the intersection between physical health, mental well-being, and social support systems.

Sam is aware of the labels society often puts on persons with disabilities, focusing on limitations rather than potential. For Sam, seeing the potential in people isn't just a professional skill; it is a guiding principle. He views every person with a growth mindset, regardless of the challenges they face.

Sam coaches his team by active demonstration, showing staff how to interact with persons with disabilities in a way that preserves their autonomy and self-identity. By combining his clinical knowledge with his mission to dismantle the negative stigmas surrounding disability, he leads his team to ensure that every person with a disability can live a full life as valued members of our community.

Team Lead

Daniyal leads his team through a blend of scientific understanding and human connection. His leadership is informed by his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Alberta, where he has studied the complex physiological and neurological factors that influence an individual's daily experience.

Daniyal is a frequent volunteer for various Alberta health agencies and other health-related organizations. This frontline experience has refined his ability to advocate for individuals within larger systemic frameworks, ensuring they receive the high-quality, personalized care required to thrive in their community.

Daniyal is a solution-focused leader, creating the emotional safety required for the individuals he supports to take risks, learn new skills, and experience a genuine sense of belonging. He coaches his team to navigate community support through informed decision-making, ensuring that every individual is empowered to lead a fulfilling life.

Currently pursuing medical school, Daniyal views his role as a Team Lead as a vital chapter in his journey toward becoming a physician. Daniyal recognizes that for an individual to truly thrive, they must be seen as a whole person with an identity that is larger than their diagnosis. His mission is to bridge the gap between clinical support and social inclusion, ensuring that every individual has the agency to define their own journey toward wellness and citizenship.
